Service integrator, iPlatinum, has taken on solutions partner status with electronic document and record management vendor, Tower Software.
iPlatinum concentrates on project managing system implementations for local government councils. It currently retains around 80 council clients.
Director, Michael Preedy, said it had worked with Tower's TRIM software application on a number of council projects. The new partnership would allow it to work closer with the vendor and build up its skill set.
"Rather than continuing as independent consultants, we thought we'd partner with what we believe is the best fit product for local council," Preedy said. "Our focus will initially be on the TRIM product, because that is where the focus is in the local council space, but certainly Web content management presents another opportunity."
Preedy said TRIM also tied in with its focus on strategic planning, performance and management reporting.
Tower NSW branch manager, Bruce Ash, said iPlatinum had a broad scope of expertise. The new partnership would see the integrator assist clients from the beginning of the project.
"Being involved throughout the whole process really reduces the amount of risks we see in projects today," he said. "A lot of risks evolve around getting the product in and getting it right the first time, as well as understanding what the organisation needs to achieve.
"iPlatinum is a very big player in the local council market and we are happy to take them on as a partner."
