With its eye on the lucrative SMB market, Trend Micro is on the hunt for new resellers.
Trend Micro director of SMB, Dave Patnaik, said the vendor was ultimately looking for two types of reseller to cover both small and medium businesses.
"In medium partners we're looking for a handful of people who are technically savvy," he said.
Medium partners would also need to provide other value-added security services. Small partners, while not required to have the same level of savvy, would benefit from an understanding of server technology, he said.
While Patnaik wouldn't qualify how many resellers the security vendor currently had on its books, he said he wanted the new initiative to grow its SMB base by up to 50 per cent by the New Year.
"We are fully focused on driving the SMB business through the channel and have education and other programs for all our resellers," he said. "Success in the SMB market can only come through partners."
