Newly appointed RSA Security country manager, Mark Pullen, has promised to tighten channel ties. Recently acquired by storage giant EMC, he said RSA would swell its reseller ranks during the next six months.
"The channel is a very important part of our business because security is a tough product to sell," he said. "Companies such as Dimension Data and Commander and have done a great job. We wouldn't be where we are today without the channel."
RSA general manager of channels, Gavin Jarvis, said it would look to appoint two additional high-end solution partners and a handful of access partners.
Pullen said online technology would be employed to help stay in closer contact.
"We are considering holding regular events, like webinars for example, so we can speak to partners regularly," he said. "That way, all the basics have already been covered and we can concentrate on more advanced topics when we visit."
Pullen stepped into the country manager role from a banking and finance specialist position. He has been with RSA for six years and has more than 18 years' experience in the software industry.
He replaces former boss, Steve Terry, who joined RSA in November 2005.
