Dimension Data Appoints Pete Murray as NSW State Manager

Dimension Data has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Pete Murray as New South Wales state manager. Pete will inject enthusiasm, extensive industry experience and leadership abilities to Dimension Data’s NSW branch operations.

In his capacity as NSW state manager for Dimension Data, Pete Murray is responsible for commercial management of the branch, leadership for the local go-to-market strategy, involvement with national planning and implementation strategies, and establishing and maintaining branch-based partner and vendor relationships. He will also be responsible for revenue forecasting and meeting financial targets in the NSW market. Pete will work closely with Dimension Data’s national leadership team on sales strategy and performance, and operational management in the NSW office.

“I am very excited about the appointment of Pete Murray. Pete not only possesses an extensive skill set in IT management, he has a passion for building and nurturing positive team dynamics and high morale. With Pete’s enthusiasm and management skills, I think we will see our NSW operations reach a new level,” said Steve Nola, Australian CEO, Dimension Data.

Pete Murray joins Dimension Data from Telstra Corporation, where he was industry general manager – finance, banking and insurance. Prior to his role at Telstra, Pete worked for over eight years at Avaya in various sales, marketing and product management capacities, in both direct and indirect sales channels in the EMEA and Asia Pacific markets.

Pete brings a great deal of experience to his new role, having been involved in the IT industry since 1989. Pete holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Auckland University and a Post-graduate Diploma of Marketing Management from Chartered Institute of Management in the UK.

“I read a quote that I think applies well to Dimension Data. ‘The difference between a good company and a great company is the talent within it’. My observation since joining Dimension Data is that the attitude, commitment and talent of the people are amazing. I look forward very much to working with them to ensure that this is translated into the best and most unique value proposition for our clients,” said Pete Murray, NSW state manager, Dimension Data.

“When I look at the market in which Dimension Data operates, there is tremendous opportunity. We are seeing the change from outsourcing to multisourcing and selective sourcing, and IT infrastructure is no longer considered as merely a cost centre – it is expected to deliver productivity and returns to the business. I believe Dimension Data is very well placed to deliver innovative services and solutions to cater for this shift in the market.”
