Queensland-based distributor, inTechnology, had become the first local wholesaler of AirWave wireless network management software.
The AirWave Management Platform (AMP) is a software suite for provisioning and monitoring a multi-vendor, WLAN.
In addition to standalone sales, the distributor's director of sales and marketing, Mark Winter, said it would create bundles with complementary wireless products. Its vendor line-up includes Juniper Networks, BigFix, Infoexpress and Advanced Network Technology Laboratories (AntLabs).
"We want to take the full suite of wireless products to the channel," Winter said. "Through our distribution of the Funk and Juniper products, we can do wireless security authentication at the front-end, have the middle network solution and end-point tools at the edge.
"AirWave's wireless management software allows centralised management of all access points across the network. It means we can sell the full package."
Internationally, AirWave partners with networking vendors such as Aruba Networks, HP ProCurve and Airspace.
Winter said it hoped to leverage those relationships by working with each vendor's partners locally.
"Juniper doesn't do the switch hardware, so we have been working with ProCurve's channel partners to deliver the full solution on the 802.1x side," he said.
AirWave had previously been using New Zealand-based partner, Kalooma, to cover the Australian market.
The vendor's spokesperson, Sergio Gutierrez, said InTechnology's great referrals and WLAN knowledge made it an appropriate choice.
The distributor was now looking to recruit about 20 wireless resellers. Partners would be given access to sales and technical training.
Although there was no formal certification required at this stage, Gutierrez said resellers would undergo an approval process.
