Dimension Data has appointed a former Telstra executive to head up its NSW branch. Pete Murray has replaced Michelle Tea, who is understood to have joined business strategy group, NetReturn.
Murray was most recently industry general manager - finance, banking and insurance at Telstra. Prior to this, he spent eight years at Avaya in EMEA and Asia-Pacific.
"With that Avaya experience I have a very broad understanding of the market," he said. "I hope to ensure we get the market we should rightfully have. We are world best at certain things and anybody thinking of those things should be talking to us."
Murray cited DiData's hat-trick of awards at the recent Microsoft global partner conference as proof of his claims. He said the shift from Telstra was exciting.
"I see DiData as a unique integrator, especially with many of its competitors now acquired by larger organisations," Murray said. "In my opinion, we are the broadest independent systems integrator in the market now and that's very exciting.
"I've spent a lot of time with my clients already. They can see we are serious about shaking up the market."
