HP has boosted channel support for its ProCurve networking tool with the launch of a new partner program.
The company has unveiled a new ProCurve Service Advantage program, through which it aims to offer greater training, tools and support, such as white papers and implementation guides, to its partners.
The new program will also include individual schemes, such as a rapid response for parts delivery service, asset disposal and recycling services, a partner locator, and various certification programs for ProCurve.
Certifications to be offered by the vendor for ProCurve partners include: Accredited Sales Professional, Accredited Sales Consultant, Accredited Integration Specialist, Accredited Systems Engineer and Master Accredited Systems Engineer. The courses will be available from HP from July.
“It’s about expanding on current training so partners can configure solutions to end-users,” HP ProCurve country manager, Gurkirat Singh, said.
The channel announcements coincided with the release of several new ProCurve product offerings, including improved control software, new gigabit switches with accompanying modules, and new Wi-Fi access and antennas.
HP Australia is also still in the process of increasing its ProCurve Elite Partners from three to five. Current elite partners include Volante, Commander and Leading Solutions.
According to Singh, elite partners must be experts in configuring and implementing networks, maintain at least five offices across Australia and employ at least one qualified pre-sales person and a technical sales person per office.
