Alphawest Wins Content Management Deal with Legal Aid WA
- 02 August, 2006 14:04

IT Services business, Alphawest, has been selected by Legal Aid Western Australia to implement a new content management system. Legal Aid is an independent statutory body set up by the Legal Aid Commission Act of 1976 and provides information, advice and legal representation to the community of Western Australia.

Alphawest will work with Legal Aid to implement the RedDot Content Management System (CMS) to manage the replacement of its key web-based legal information and knowledge repository.
The new repository, to be known as the Legal Resource System (LRS), will provide additional functionality and improved accessibility of legal resources available to its staff and its external partners.
"It became apparent that the content management system we had intended to use for LRS content management was inadequate," said Terry Gaston, Manager Information at Legal Aid. "By undertaking this update it will be possible to put the control of the content in the hands of our subject area experts, enabling a significant increase in the scope and use of the LRS.

"We look forward to working with Alphawest to grow our system from a simple searchable database to a one-stop resource that presents a wide range of information and tools focused on relevant legal issues."
Ross Hamilton, WA Line of Business Manager for Business Solutions at Alphawest, said: "By implementing the RedDot system for the LRS repository, Legal Aid will benefit from more efficient management of content for its legal resources plus there is potential to use the RedDot application across the organisation in areas such as its Internet site. We are pleased to be working with Legal Aid and to continue our strong focus on developing and implementing enterprise content management solutions."

Simon Tate, Regional Sales Manager at Hummingbird said, "Legal Aid has validated the emerging trend of embracing Web CMS as an integral component of an end to end content management strategy. We value the investments that Legal Aid has made in the Hummingbird Suite to date and the addition of RedDot for CMS complements their ECM strategy."
