Telstra services subsidiary, Kaz Group, has appointed ICT veteran, Robert Chirgwin, as its first Northern Territory manager.
Regional general manager of South Australia, NT and Tasmania, David Kelly, said the newly created role was part of a broader plan to establish a foothold nationally. Kaz will soon appoint its first Tasmanian state manager.
The company would leverage Telstra and Telstra Countrywide's existing customer base and infrastructure to help drive sales in both markets. It would also work with key vendor partners including Microsoft, Symantec and IBM.
"We have a major consultancy engagement underway in NT, which is our first piece of business there," Kelly said. "We've also had a number of contracts in Tasmania over the last 12 months and have a big customer base through Telstra. This is about offering complementary services to that base."
Kaz will offer consulting, applications development and systems integration, ICT outsourcing, products, education training and development.
Prior to signing with Kaz, Chirgwin ran his own ICT consultancy business in NT. The services outfit also plans to appoint a local for the Tasmanian role.
