SunGard Availability Services this week launched a set of messaging and collaboration services for businesses that want to improve their messaging security and continuity.
The company introduced its SunGard Messaging and Collaboration Services suite. The suite includes an E-mail Availability Service, an E-mail Protection Service, a Hosted Exchange Service, a Notification Services and an Archive Service for Messaging.
The E-Mail Availability Service provides failover for Exchange e-mail servers. The Protection Service provides continuous protection against hackers, spammers and other invaders of the system. With it, customers can redirect Exchange e-mail to a SunGard facility where they are inspected before being routed to the message recipient.
The Hosted Exchange Service provides a customer with e-mail service located at a SunGard facility. It also offers a migration path for customers who have been managing their own e-mail.
The Notification Service is a Web-based tool that provides communications to employees via voice, text, pagers or Blackberry devices of company announcements, as well as IT outages or physical disaster.
Finally the Archiving Service for Messaging manages the lifetime of e-mail and attachments, easing regulatory compliance.
