WebCentral has launched a Web portal offering Software as a Service (SaaS) applications. To be known as Application Marketplace, it is designed to help ISVs develop a SaaS strategy.
CEO, Andrew Spicer, said the site gave ISVs the opportunity to promote products while providing them with a new source of sales leads.
"The concept of SaaS is starting to take a hold," he said. "A lot of businesses are finding it beneficial and we are trying to be on the leading edge." So far, WebCentral hosts 25 ISVs in its Application Marketplace.
Spicer said a lot of the current applications were devised for SME but he was keen to expand into the corporate sector.
Software currently available includes accounting and tax, antivirus, business process, collaboration and compliance, CRM, education, email and messaging, human resources software, procurement, website management and wireless mobility.
Spicer said website management, CRM and accounting and tax, had proved most popular to date.
