TodayTech has signed up to distribute memory module products from Smart Modular Technologies.
The distributor's CEO, Jack Zhong, said it had not been a major supplier of memory to date so the products would not conflict with other lines. It will carry high-performance computing DRAM memory modules including dual in-line memory modules (DIMM), small outline dual in-line memory modules (SO-DIMM), mini-DIMMs and low-profile DIMMs.
Zhong said TodayTech would cross-sell the memory devices with other products such as hard-disk drives, motherboards and CPUs. System and notebook builders are its main targets.
"We will be offering resellers more choices but, at the same time, it will help us approach a new base," Zhong said.
Smart vice-president of worldwide sales, Wayne Eisenberg, said the vendor had looked at several local distributors before settling for TodayTech.
"It has a well recognised customer base and its sales strategies are well aligned with our objectives," he said.
