Telco services company, M2 Telecommunications Group, has inked a wholesale agreement with engin to deliver services to the small enterprise VoIP market.
M2 managing director, Vaughan Bowen, said the telco had contacted engin in a bid to develop a VoIP product suite that would complement its existing telecom products.
"We spent several months researching the various VoIP players in the market and concluded that engin, albeit a relatively new provider, had the most established VoIP network," Bowen said. "Importantly, it also has a well resourced operation, capable of properly servicing our requirements at a wholesale supply level."
Bowen said the M2 VoIP offering would be targeted at SMBs of 5-50 users.
"While VoIP is an area of telco that must be given due attention, it is just one of the strategic pathways M2 is pursuing," he said. "Mobile telephony, via our close association with Optus, is by far our fastest growing area."
