Alphawest has been chosen to implement a content management system for Legal Aid Western Australia.
WA line of business manager, Ross Hamilton, said the new deal would further strengthen the integrator's relationship with Legal Aid. Alphawest initially provided the organisation with Hummingbird products and services relating to its electronic record document system 12 months ago.
The latest rollout was a key step in the ongoing development of its information management strategy and capabilities, he said.
"Legal Aid considered a number of content management platforms and providers before deciding to engage with us," Hamilton said. "We were able to offer the client a solid proposition by demonstrating an understanding of its current information capabilities, technical infrastructure and plans for future development."
Alphawest installed and implemented an Intranet-style solution using Hummingbird's RedDot content management system. This will be used to manage content for Legal Aid's internal Legal Resources System (LRS) repository.
Hamilton said it also helped design an LRS interface allowing users to search for, access and contribute relevant legal information.
"The RedDot solution was chosen to meet their business requirements. The long-term strategy is that it will become a part of their enterprise content management," he said.
In other news, Hamilton said Alphawest was currently looking for staff to address strong growth at its Perth branch. It had a number of positions available for business analysts, project managers, Web consultants and content management specialists.
