LAN Systems has struck a distribution deal with local security vendor, Earthwave, to offer its entire hosted and remote managed security services.
The Earthwave range delivers around the clock network security management and services to protect critical assets. It can detect, analyse and respond to data from more than 200 devices in real-time.
The distributor's national sales manager, Leigh Howard, said the relationship was part of efforts to place stronger emphasis on managed security services. Earthwave services are compatible with many products already in the LAN Systems stable including Cisco, Check Point, McAfee, Nokia, PatchLink, Blue Coat and Crossbeam.
"We conducted a thorough analysis of the managed security service provider market and found Earthwave was already a trusted partner for many of our major carriers, resellers and vendors," Howard said.
"The managed security marketplace is a complex and tricky area for resellers to get into. We will be running a very select and carefully targeted program rather than trying to appeal to the general masses."
Earthwave managing director, Carlo Minassian, said it had chosen to partner with LAN Systems because of its strong enterprise channel base and existing value-added service capabilities.
Resellers interested in offering the Earthwave range to customers will need to join its certified security provider partner program, which is available through LAN Systems.
