Database Solution for Siebel Business Applications Aids In Maintaining and Archiving Customer Data for Relationship Management Purposes

Sydney, Australia – 28th June 2004 -- Princeton Softech, the market leader in enterprise database archiving according to Gartner, announced that it has joined the Siebel Alliance Program as a Software Partner. Siebel Systems, Inc., is a leading provider of business applications software enabling corporations to sell to, market to, and serve customers across multiple channels and lines of business with a proven set of industry-specific best practices, CRM applications, market-leading analytics products, and business processes.

"Princeton Softech is an ideal partner for us because of its deep expertise in database archiving and data management in complex heterogeneous enterprise environments," said Arun Balaraman, Group Director, Technology Product Marketing, Siebel Systems. "Princeton Softech's Active Archive solution helps customers reduce operational costs and risks, decrease downtime by reducing the quantity of data that is upgraded, and accelerate the retrieval of historical data."

Because Siebel CRM applications are designed to provide businesses with a 360 degree view of their customers, they require that an extensive amount of data and information be gathered and stored from the appropriate customer database. This information must be protected through a long term data retention strategy. Princeton Softech’s Active Archiving solution will aid Siebel Systems in delivering this comprehensive data archiving functionality to its customers.

As a requirement of the program, Princeton Softech will help build integration between Princeton Softech’s Active Archiving solution and Siebel Business Applications while submitting the solution for testing through the Siebel Validation Program.

“This alliance furthers our commitment to provide enterprise customers with a complete and heterogeneous database archiving platform,” said Geoff Hogan, executive vice president of alliances and corporate development, Princeton Softech. “Creating an integrated solution to the leading CRM application, will enable Princeton Softech to directly address the entire spectrum of application archiving needs.”

Princeton Softech’s database archiving solutions move infrequently accessed data from application databases to low cost storage media and help companies manage and store structured data cost-effectively, based on its business value and access requirements throughout the information lifecycle. Once validated, the combined solution will enable companies to maximize application performance and maintain high levels of customer insight.

"Siebel applications provide users with a competitive advantage by enabling a complete view of their customers. A byproduct of these applications is the large volumes of valuable data stored within their databases,” said Peter Gerr, Analyst, The Enterprise Storage Group. “This partnership will further enable Siebel Systems users to deliver high levels of customer service by archiving and managing data growth in the production environment.”

Princeton Softech, the database archiving market leader with more than half the market (a 56% market share according to Gartner), delivers an enterprise-wide database archiving platform that seamlessly supports all of the leading databases (including Oracle, UDB, DB2, SQL Server, Sybase and Informix) and operating environments (Unix, Windows and z/OS).
