MPA touts new security filtering range

Melbourne-based distributor, MPA Systems, is claiming resellers can pick up extra margins through its beefed up ContentKeeper Internet filtering product range.

The new products include the introduction of port- and signature-based filtering capabilities, to more effectively block peer-to-peer (P2P) and Instant Messaging (IM) protocols on networks.

Another new feature is the ContentKeeper Monitor, which provides instant notification to the administrator of any 'event' or activity that the administrator wants to monitor, such as unwanted downloads.

"It's a new technology that provides immediate benefits not only to overworked IT administrators but also to the company CFO," MPA sales manager, Tim Pearce, said.

Pearce said ContentKeeper Monitor provided resellers with a value-add to customers in the government, corporate and education markets.

ContentKeeper Web allows organisations to develop and enforce their own Internet acceptable usage policies. With the monitoring product, if anything contravened the admin policy, a notification via email or an SMS could be sent, Pearce said.

"The advantage to our resellers is that it's an easy and relatively cost effective add-on to an already fantastic solution and most importantly it means some extra margins," he said.
