Storage vendor, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), has unveiled a new ISV program to assist partners provide end-to-end application data management.
A/NZ software solutions director, Adrian De Luca, said the program allowed vendors to work with HDS to develop interoperability with its Hitachi Content Archive Platform and storage solutions.
"It lets application vendors know that we have a formal process where we can work with them to make sure we come up with the best solution for customers," he said. "ISVs will have the intelligence to be able to index content and make it searchable and retrievable."
The program consists of three levels - platinum, gold and silver. Partners that join the program will be provided with marketing, sales and pre-sales support, technical training, access to events and Web seminars.
Platinum and gold partners will be able to integrate applications with HDS products to achieve interoperability and take part in joint marketing campaigns.
De Luca said the silver level would be suitable for partners that had just started their relationship with HDS. They would only need to demonstrate technical compatibility.
"Partners have to demonstrate there is a need to archive an application and we will determine the partnership level based on the proliferation of the application and the level of resources they have," he said.
"We are not going to necessarily ask partners to invest huge lots of money. We need to assess the marketplace because some applications are going to have bigger archiving opportunities than others."
HDS currently has 13 partners involved in the program with CA, Open Text and Symantec achieving platinum status.
