Messaging Architects aims at education, govt

Canadian email compliance and security vendor, Messaging Architects, is stepping into the Australian market with the help of Adelaide-based reseller, Comunet.

Comunet eastern region director, Craig Fiegert, will serve as the vendor's Asia-Pacific managing director but will not leave his post with the reseller. The companies are acting as separate entities.

"We have the distribution rights for the software and are participating in the vendor's regional formation," he said. "A lot of companies are starting to deal with compliance, archiving and retaining emails."

The vendor currently has two sales and technical support staff. It will set up office in Melbourne.

Four core products from its GroupWise range will be offered initially. These include an email archiving solution, email gateway content filtering and antivirus, a publishing tool that allows users to publish from GroupWise to a Web page and a faxing solution that allows users to fax from any email address.

"The products are cross platform so it's also compatible with Notes and Exchange, which gives Messaging Architects an edge over the competition," Fiegert said.

The range will initially be targeted at education and government. The vendor is searching for specialised resellers and integrators.

"We will be looking for key resellers in each state to provide value-added integration services," he said. "We prefer to work with partners that have email and compliance experience."
