Resellers with data centre smarts are in the sights of Sydney-based Sententia as it looks to move storage servers from North American vendor, 3PAR.
"We want to find resellers who understand the data centre and are capable of providing round the clock coverage," Sententia CEO, JP Clemence, said. "We're looking for those that aren't full entrenched with a storage competitor as they might shy away from a giant killer."
Clemence said it would initially look to generate sales of 3PAR's InServ storage servers, which can scale to 384TB.
He estimated an SME offering was 3-4 months away.
Sententia would like a reseller in each capital city but was also set up to resell the product itself. Clemence was aware of possible conflict with the channel he is trying to build.
"We're totally aware of direct sales and the needs of resellers, but we need to get some initial reference customers," Clemence said. "Once we're satisfied resellers are serving the customers correctly we'll step back from selling."
