Service integrator, UXC, has acquired eOne Integrated Business Solutions Group and will merge the business with its Great Plains subsidiary, Eclipse Computing.
UXC Business Solutions Group CEO, Cris Nicolli, said eOne was an attractive acquisition as its strength in Great Plains would bolster Eclipse's expertise and also launch the business into the New Zealand market. eOne has an office in Auckland.
"We began initial discussions before Christmas," Nicolli said. "There's a good synergy between the two companies and eOne adds 90 Great Plains customers to Eclipse's 140."
Nicolli said the 20 eOne staff in Sydney and Auckland would be retained. However, he suggested a possible renaming of the business was on the cards.
"We need to do a bit of homework but Eclipse is the premier brand in the market and customers understand it better," Nicolli said. "Over time, I think the Eclipse brand will dominate, but we will have a look at the impact on customers before we make any changes."
Financial details of the eOne acquisition weren't disclosed.
