IT services group, Red Rock Consulting, has recruited John Harriott to the newly created role of A/NZ national sales manager.
He previously ran his own consultancy business and has worked in various sales roles at IBM, CSC and Wang Global.
Harriott said the position had arisen out of the acquisitions and expansions Red Rock had made during the past 12 months. He will be responsible for driving growth across it Oracle, PeopleSoft, MS SQL Server and managed services businesses.
"We are all currently doing things slightly differently. I want to provide one concerted face to the market and merge our sales forces and marketing representation under one Red Rock banner," he said. "We could do more through our customer set. I want to prioritise the different things we are doing for customers - whether it is applications support, PeopleSoft or SQL support, project management or business processes - to establish a much deeper engagement."
Harriott said he would initially identify the company's internal capabilities and go-to market strategies to increase geographic growth.
"I'll be specifically focusing on our customer representation, increasing our penetration into existing customers and working with our existing alliance partners - particularly Oracle - to establish a more strategic partnership," he said.
