Zultys targets growth through distribution

US-based Zultys Technologies is building up its Australian channel and seeking to appoint a distributor for its VoIP-based communications systems.

Australian country manager, Tony Warhurst, said Zultys had 21 local resellers. These were currently supplied direct by Zultys, but he said he was looking to add new resellers and a distributor.

Zultys is negotiating with several potential partners and hopes to announce a distribution partner in the next few months.

The firm had no set target for how many extra resellers it would appoint, Warhurst said, because it depended on how effective they they were.

He wanted new resellers to target industry verticals, such as healthcare, with its products.

Existing partners were a mixture of networking, data or traditional PABX resellers, Warhurst said.

Zultys was unlikely to choose a large distributor, but rather one or two niche partners depending on regional coverage and capabilities. “We have gone to a boutique distributor that works in this space,” he said.

Zultys designs and makes products that integrate telecommunications and data communications for enterprise networks, which it sells exclusively through the channel.

Vice-president of product marketing for Zultys, Patrick Ferriter, said his firm used open standards for ease of deployment and management.

Recently-launched products include the MX250 and MX1200 Enterprise Media Exchange, the MX25 Modular SIP Gateway and the ZIP range of IP-based telephones.
