Police have found a body, believed to be that of missing Victorian woman, Juan Zhang, in the boot of her car in Melbourne's Glen Huntly suburb.
The car was found this morning at a block of units in Foster Avenue, Glen Huntly, situated in Melbourne's south-east.
A spokesperson for Victoria Police confirmed a 24-year-old Caulfield man was taken to the Melbourne Custody Centre this morning and charged in relation to the abduction. He was expected to face magistrates today.
Zhang, 35, was last seen leaving the West Melbourne branch of IT retailer, Computer and Parts Land, at 6.40pm on Thursday 18 May. Her 1997 Seat Cordoba has been missing since the incident. A large amount of blood and hair was found at the scene.
Eight witnesses told police they heard screams and an argument at the time of her disappearance. A text message sent from Zhang's phone to friends on Friday 2.30pm was later dismissed by police as a diversion issued by her attacker.
The police spokesperson said the body had now been taken to the morgue, where it would be formally identified. The car was waiting to be towed. An official statement from homicide police is expected later today.
