Storage tape specialist, Tandberg Data, is looking to boost reseller numbers to drive sales of its products into the small business market.
Business development manager, Georg Schlueter, said the T40 storage tape library runs on a licensed-based capacity-on-demand initiative to cater for users that were looking to expand. This allows users to start with 24 slots and build up to 40 as more storage is required.
"More and more SMBs are in the position now to afford storage area network (SAN) technology and we will predominately be addressing the 100-200 seat market as well as smaller companies with high storage requirements," he said.
Schlueter said he was looking for 30 resellers, and would target those that currently sell competing products.
He highlighted HP as a key rival in the storage market.
Until the end of May, Tandberg is offering resellers a bundling package, which includes its 420 LTO, 1U StorageLoader and S24 Library with CA BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5. Schlueter is considering further CA bundling initiatives.
Tandberg plans to conduct more rural road shows across Australia in the next couple of months.
"Targeting remote areas helps intensify relationships with resellers and end users because it gives us the opportunity to listen to needs and demands," he said.
