Linux software vendor Red Hat is offering a free half-day training seminar to its Australian resellers.
The seminars, to be conducted by Red Hat technical staff, will be held in Melbourne (on July 6), Brisbane (July 12) and Sydney (July 13). Topics covered include customer purchasing trends, information on Red Hat’s Desktop and Enterprise Linux products, and suggestions on ways to sell Linux software.
Seminar attendees will receive a complimentary copy of Red Hat’s Basic Enterprise software, valued at $649.
Red Hat global learning services manager for the Asia Pacific, Jodie Kane, said the vendor usually carried out reseller training on a one-on-one basis.
The upcoming seminars were the first instance of a reseller-wide training program from Red Hat, she said. Red Hat expected about 30 attendees at each of the events, Kane said.
There is a limit of 50 attendees per city.
Kane said Red Hat currently leveraged distributor Ingram Micro’s reseller base of 4000 resellers to bring its products to market.
“Those resellers are serviced by our distributor Ingram Micro. However, we do deal directly with them for training,” she said.
Interested resellers can register for the seminars with Red Hat representative, Danielle Harrison, on 02 8923 2824 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
