Following 18 months of trials, OZiQ is ramping up production of its locally built All-in-one PC. It has handed the master distributorship to HiTech Distribution.
The SA-based distributor has signed on the dotted line to shift $21 million worth of kit over the next four years, according to OZiQ director, Michael Molloy.
"HiTech isn't just about moving boxes. It really understands the product," he said. "Even before we started talking about the benefits, HiTech was talking about where it could be sold."
Sub-distributors contracted by HiTech include Stirling IT in NSW, Zitec in Victoria and WA-based Trinix. It will also work with some distributors used by OZiQ during its trials. HiTech national sales manager, Richard Davies, said its main role would be to warehouse the PCs and work on new programs to promote the product. The OZiQ range encompasses 15-, 17- and 22-inch PCs built into LCD screens, similar in style to Apple's iMac. Molloy said plans were underway for a 60-inch version designed for lounge rooms. OZiQ will be displaying its wares at the CeBIT show.
