FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PSFT – 88

PeopleSoft to Extend Apple Safari Certification to
PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Applications

PeopleSoft Delivers Enterprise Application Industry’s
Broadest Choice of Browser Support

Sydney – June 30, 2004 – PeopleSoft, Inc. (Nasdaq: PSFT) today announced plans to certify Apple Safari, the fastest browser on the Macintosh, for PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne solutions. Having previously certified PeopleSoft Enterprise applications on the Safari web browser, the addition of PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne certification marks the enterprise applications industry’s largest commitment to the Macintosh platform. The Apple Safari web browser enhances usability for customers accessing PeopleSoft applications running on the Macintosh. This certification demonstrates PeopleSoft’s continued commitment to delivering the highest level of platform choice to its customers.

“Since most customers need to support a wide-range of computing environments, enabling their users to access PeopleSoft applications through their choice of web browser is critical,” said Jesper Andersen, group vice president and general manager, PeopleSoft Tools & Technology. “Today’s announcement demonstrates the enterprise applications industry’s strongest commitment to the Macintosh platform and to Apple users in the enterprise.”

The Safari browser delivers the best performance of PeopleSoft applications in the Mac OS X environment, allowing enterprise applications users to maximize productivity. Users of PeopleSoft applications will be able to take advantage of Apple’s Safari’s unique features including SnapBack navigation—a feature that enables a user to step back through a transaction with a single click rather than many. The tabbed browsing feature will enable users to access multiple PeopleSoft application pages in a single window, which is important in multi-lingual call centers where a customer service agent needs access to applications in more than one language on the same system.

“Enabling all users to access our PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne applications is vital,” Chris Grange, director of personnel and Financial Services, University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. “With an extremely diverse user base, PeopleSoft’s support of the Apple Safari browser enables more of our users to benefit from PeopleSoft applications without requiring any changes to our infrastructure.”

“Safari is the fastest and most popular browser on the Mac,” said Ron Okamoto, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “We are excited that PeopleSoft is joining the enormous support for Safari, offering enterprise customers the opportunity to access PeopleSoft applications with the most innovative browser on the Mac.”

PeopleSoft has certified Apple Safari for Enterprise applications PeopleTools 8.21 and PeopleTools 8.45. In addition, PeopleSoft plans to complete certification for PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94 in the fourth quarter.
