Queensland-based software publisher, Manaccom, has signed with Arts PDF and will aim the product at the Acrobat market.
"We want to take a chunk out of the Acrobat corporate market. Unlike Internet security, which is just version releases, this new product is going to turn the market segment on its head," Manaccom director of publishing, James Mackay, said. "We know there is huge demand for Acrobat alternatives because it is quite expensive. What we are offering is three times cheaper."
The company would be distributing the Nitro PDF range, which comes in two versions - one for retail and a licensed corporate edition.
Mackay said the company would not be phasing out its Publish PDF Pro range but would halve the price to $99. He will promote the products to VARs and software developers.
"We want to get on side with these guys because we know they have a great impact on the way companies set up offices and what software they use," he said.
Manaccom was currently looking for an account manager to drive Nitro PDF sales, he said.
