AV channel gets InFocus
Digital projection technology and services company, InFocus Australia, has appointed Image Design Technology as its latest distribution partner for commercial projectors in the AV channel. The appointment comes as InFocus seeks to continue its expansion strategy for the region. IDT will carry InFocus’ commercial range of digital projectors. IDT managing director, Gerry Wilkins, said the major focus at IDT was visual displays. This indicated a great synergy with InFocus. Both companies were moving in the same direction to serve the Australian market, he said. InFocus A/NZ country manager, Lee Whincup, said as InFocus’ business changed from exclusively front projection towards large format digital displays for commercial and consumer applications, it made sense to partner with IDT as it was focused on those market segments.
SPL expands PeopleSoft agreement
SPL has renewed and expanded its Joint Development and Marketing Agreement (JDMA) with PeopleSoft to include Asia-Pacific and to expand PeopleSoft Enterprise Revenue Management’s target markets from utilities to other industries. The new JDMA continues an agreement initiated in 1999 under which SPL used PeopleTools to develop a version of its customer care and billing software. Under the agreement, PeopleSoft can now market the Revenue Management (RM) solution as part of its enterprise application suites to other industries and government revenue collection agencies. PeopleSoft director of product and industry marketing Japan and Asia-Pacific, Ray Kloss, said the relationship with SPL extended PeopleSoft’s ability to deliver its RM solution beyond its current markets, and into new industries including service and government sectors. SPL CEO, Harry Debes, said many people talked about partnership but few actually had one that was as successful as that between SPL and PeopleSoft.
