Dicker to raise bid for distributor

Comments

Dicker Data has had a $1 million offer for an unnamed distributor rejected but will go back with a renewed offer this week.

Managing director, David Dicker, said the deal would further its aspirations of listing on the Australian Stock Exchange by broadening its product portfolio and extending its geographical reach. But he said the revised terms would be a final offer.

According to Dicker, the owner of the target company has expressed an interest in acquiring shares if the NSW-based distributor gets its proposed float off the ground.

In other news, long-serving sales manager, Gaynor Foletti, has been shown the door after 12 years with the company. She had been leading the Dicker sales team since the departure of general manager, Angela Coronica, in January 2005.

Dicker will look externally for a replacement and has notified other staff members that sales need to increase if the company is to maintain current staffing levels.

"I would much rather increase sales than reduce headcount," Dicker said. "We will see how we go for the next six months."
