Lenovo announced its new US partner program, the Lenovo Partner Network, last week but its local channel will have to wait a little longer for details of the Australian version.
Overseas, the network seeks to cover the entire partner relationship, providing education, training, sales and marketing tools and service and support to resellers. Two levels of membership are being offered -- Business Partner and Premium Partner.
Lenovo Australia channel marketing manager, Merrin Palmer, said the localised version would be different to what had been announced in North America and wouldn't be unveiled until early April.
But despite being tight-lipped on the differences, Palmer still provided a teaser, indicating that partner rewards would be incentives-based.
In related news, Palmer said Lenovo was on target to hit its goal of 1000 partners by the end of this year. Seeking to build out its reach to consumer and SMB markets, the PC vendor has set three key criteria for new partners: location, service and support capability, and being a SMB and consumer specialist.
