Security distributor, SecureServ, has launched a series of managed security services packages for resellers.
General manager, Vic Whiteley, said the bundles would allow partners to provide a managed service at a fixed monthly rate to end-users.
"In the past resellers have just offered a box and said 'there you go, I hope it's going to work'," he said. "Now there are so many changes in the security industry that end-users need to outsource security services to really take advantage of the latest technology." The packages contain a financing facility, ServGate UTM appliance, intrusion prevention, device configuration and onsite installation, virus screening, updates and spam filtering with McAfee, site-to-site VPN and hardware and firmware maintenance.
Resellers can also offer Web filtering via SurfControl, 24 x 7 monitoring, analysis and reporting of the UTM appliance and service levels for event and request response. The packages start from $677 a month, and are targeted at organisations with more than 20 users, Whiteley said. All are stretched over three years.
Resellers have the opportunity to re-brand the packages as their own and will earn an upfront commission, which is dictated by the number of packages and products partners order.
"The benefit to the reseller is that customers are seeing them as a trusted security advisor," he said. To support the new managed services division, SecureServ has hired Leo Jusmin as the sales and channel development manager. Formerly a director of business development for Network Asia PT, he has also held senior sales, marketing and operational roles with Seccom Networks, Lan 1, Ingram Micro and Sealcorp.
Whiteley said Jusmin would focus on attracting more qualified resellers and ISP integrators.
