Express Data has appointed Victorian and Tasmanian sales manager, David Inglis, as the territory's new branch manager. The decision follows the promotion of Mal Shaw to a national sales general manager's role.
Inglis has been with the distributor for five years as an SME team leader and, more recently, working in the sales manager role. Shaw said Inglis had long been a favourite for the branch manager position.
"We had always hoped the outcome would be that David was able to replace me," he said. "Express Data is always trying to prepare its people for that next step up."
The business has also had to seek a replacement for Inglis's shoes, appointing account manager, Darren Jones, to the role. A 10-year industry veteran, Jones has been with ED for the past 18 months.
"Darren has had outstanding success in the industry and the feedback from customers, suppliers and the team has been very positive too," Shaw said. "He has been working across some major accounts and brings a lot of experience to the role."
The management reshuffle follows the departure of long-serving national sales manager, Ian Jansen, at the end of last year. Shaw took up the role earlier this month.
With his new personnel in place, he has wasted no time in hitting the road and is currently in Adelaide.
"We have always had a model of regional engagement and meeting the sales teams from the regions we are operating in," he said. "It's about trying to improve our sales tools. By listening to what people want, we can target to their needs."
