WhiteGold Solutions has bolstered its security portfolio through a new distribution deal with antivirus solutions vendor, Kapsersky Labs.
Managing director, Dominic Whitehand, said it had been missing a desktop antivirus solution amongst its range of anti-spyware, anti-hacking and anti-spam products.
"We have had a very specific gap that we needed to fill and we do have a number of gateway offerings with vendors like Barracuda but it doesn't really come with a desktop antivirus," he said. "We were pretty certain that we weren't going to tap into distribution with McAfee and Symantec because we wanted a high-end product that catered for enterprise and corporate accounts."
Whitehand said he was considering bundling the product with other security devices in its range that would include firewalls and VPNs.
WhiteGold joins Unixpac in Kaspersky's Australian distributor line-up.
Whitehand hoped to generate more than a $1 million a year in revenue sales.
"It's such a huge market and our remittance is to get as much early entrance into this market and take a percentage of the existing players," he said.
Whitehand was interested in taking on more resellers, particularly ones that are becoming dismembered with some of the current leaders in the security market.
"There are some big players that are squeezing tightly when it comes to good margins and because we are trying to increase Kaspersky brand awareness, we are offering pretty good margins for partners," he said.
