IBM has signed on the dotted line to become the major sponsor of Software Queensland for 2006.
Terms of the sponsorship were not disclosed.
In pledging its support to the advocacy group for Queensland-based commercial software developers, Big Blue has committed a range of resources that are already proving popular with members, according to its chairman, Kon Kakanis.
"IBM has a well structured program for working with independent software vendors (ISVs) and provides, among other things, access to demonstration facilities," he said. "Just one of the great challenges for small ISVs is proof of scalability. Now they have access to a facility that can test that."
Kakanis said the sponsorship package would also allow IBM to make presentations at Software Queensland meetings and functions throughout the year.
In the 18 months since its formation, Software Queensland has attracted 50 members.
