Mag Innovision monitors are set to return to Australian shores following the signing of an exclusive distribution deal with ADO Electronic Industrial.
Missing from the local market for almost two years, bringing the Proview-built brand back was a great opportunity for both CRT and LCD sales, ADO product manager, Adam Storo, said.
"Although many vendors are pulling out of CRT, we find there's still a market for them in corporates where price is a deciding factor," he said. "A good CRT is $150 versus a good LCD for $350."
Despite this market opportunity, Storo predicted 90 per cent of its Mag Innovision monitor sales would be LCD.
Mag Innovision had previously pulled out of the market because it couldn't find a suitable distributor, Storo said.
ADO would now sign up to three sub-distributors for the Mag Innovision range, with those partners fulfilling the majority of orders. Storo claimed the ink was currently drying on the first of these deals but would not provide details.
The first new shipment of Mag Innovision product hits Australia in mid-March.
Storo hopes to have all sub-distribution deals ironed out this month.
