Components distributor, IPL Group, has switched ERP systems from Citadel to NetSuite in an attempt to influence business growth and strengthen partner relationships.
CEO, Stead Denton, said the Citadel system limited the company because of its module base.
NetSuite offered a much bigger Web-based system that was embedded with CRM.
"I wanted a computer software package that could give us better and more efficient ways of running our business," he said. "This new system gives us more business to business opportunities. It also gives our dealers access to credit limit, stock availability and ordering information."
Microsoft and SAP had also pitched for the contract, but Denton said the smaller software provider was an ideal fit.
"We were reluctant to go outside the box because we thought a traditional software package was the way to go," he said. "But once we realised that we didn't have to maintain our own servers and pay licensing fees on module upgrades we found it quite powerful."
Denton said the new server would also tighten partner relationships by enabling the company to provide more technical support and advice on market trends.
