Communication specialist, Commander, has been awarded Gold Certified Partner status by Cisco Systems.
Cisco's Gold Partner scheme recognises channel partners who achieve a high level of expertise through training, and in selling and supporting Cisco solutions.
Specifically, Commander has been certified by Cisco in the areas of IP communications, wireless and security.
Group general manager for strategy and development, Steve Evans, said the company met the criteria through extensive training and service development.
"The whole process was a very big investment both in terms of capital and human costs," he said. "The biggest cost was training and hiring Cisco Certified Internet Engineers."
Aside form acquiring accredited engineers, Commander had to demonstrate its capacity to manage a support environment and to demonstrate its round-the-clock capabilities with a certified sales team.
"It's not just about selling from a Cisco catalogue but actually being able provide the right solution to solve the right problem," Evans said.
Cisco A/NZ managing director, Ross Fowler, said, "Commander's successful appointment shows its dedication to leadership in the expanding field of IP Communications, wireless technology and specialist networking."
Commander is also a certified Gold Partner of Acer and Microsoft.
