Nortel re-enters WLAN market, cuts prices for sales boost

Nortel has re-entered the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) market with a new product line that it hopes will make the most of interest in converged IP telephony and multimedia applications.

"Wireless LAN has been around for a long time, but a lot is happening in the market right now with renewed interest in multimedia applications and wireless IP," Nortel product marketing manager for Asia Pacific, Adam Kleemeyer said.

"To mark the launch of the new WLAN 2300 series in Australia, we are offering our channel partners the opportunity to combine various elements of the product portfolio in compelling solution packaged together at a special introductory price," Kleemeyer said.

The WLAN 2300 Series is comprised of a portfolio of WLAN Security Switches, a multi-mode Access Point and a Management Software system, and is available through Nortel's nPower channel partners throughout Australia.
