Security distributor, Unixpac, has put together a range of partner and end-user security training courses.
Managing director, Tom Piotrowski, said the new sessions aimed to provide partners and their customers with a broader knowledge of security issues. The company would be offering a Certified Ethical Hacker program and the whole suite of Microsoft security courses.
The distributor has partnered with IT training company, New Horizons Learning Centre, to provide the training.
"Until now we have only been providing product-based training. These new programs act as an advanced education course," he said. "It gives them an overview of what is happening in today's networking world, what to expect and how to defend."
The Certified Ethical Hacker program had already generated a lot of interest in the US, Piotrowski said.
He wanted to replicate that success locally.
"We had been looking for an organisation with a well established training program in the security sector," he said. "Education is extremely important, especially with the rapidly changing nature of security. The partnership with New Horizon is going to help us win some new customers."
Piotrowski said the courses had flexible schedules and could be completed online or in classroom settings. Partners that sell training to customers are rewarded through a point-based loyalty program.
