Networking distributor, Tecksel, has signed up its first new vendor of the year, announcing a partnership with Anthology Solutions for its Yellow Machine storage appliance.
Managing director, Lee Mutimer, said the product would be an ideal fit with its core base of SMB resellers.
"The timing is right for this kind of storage appliance as everyone is looking for something to house their digital photos within the home," he said.
"There should be a ready market for it."
The Yellow Machine comes with 1TB of storage space, and connects to the Internet via a WAN port.
Mutimer said there was the possibility for resellers to bundle the product with an ADSL modem, otherwise it was a standalone device.
Tecksel would provide resellers with sample units, as well as conducting information sessions to teach its channel about product features, Mutimer said.
These were expected to start later this month.
"It is not as technical as some of the stuff we sell, so there's not a lot of training involved," he said.
"But I think it still needs a bit of an education sell. So we will invite resellers to a hands-on workshop so they can become familiar with it."
