Sun has committed to signing all former StorageTek partners by the end of this month as it continues to build its Data Management Group (DMG) on the back of last year's acquisition.
The US giant has also elected to fast-track former StorageTek partners once they are onboard, with a target of having them trained and accredited on Sun storage products within six months.
Sun director of partner sales, Michael May, said the process was running smoothly as the majority of its partners were also historically StorageTek partners. The number of new partners to sign and train was relatively low.
The biggest challenge of the integration to date has been local StorageTek distributors - ACA Pacific and DataStor - which, in turn, had partners of their own. Sun would like both to rally under its banner.
May said Sun's A/NZ operations led the world in the integration of StorageTek and the creation of the DMG - primarily because the local market was so much smaller than that of its North American or European counterparts.
