Sage CRM has partnered with Vodafone to offer two new mobile packages to SMBs which it plans to sell exclusively through the channel.
The two additions to Sage's suite - ACT! Mobility Suite and ACT! Web Suite - will be sold only through Sage's 50 ACT certified consultants across Australia at 20 per cent to 30 per cent below recommended retail price.
The ACT! Mobility Suite includes ACT! by Sage version 8.0 customer and contact management (CRM) software; a hand held contact which wirelessly links the CRM software with BlackBerry devices; a BlackBerry wireless handheld from Vodafone; and a Vodafone voice and data package.
The ACT! Web Suite includes ACT! Premium for Web 7.0, enabling remote or travelling users to access real time centralised data through a Web browser; and Vodafone Mobile Connect with 3G, a mobile broadband service which allows users to connect to the Internet, send and receive emails from anywhere within 3G coverage areas and access business applications.
Both packages retail at $1500 per user.
ACT! regional business manager, Ken Prokopec, said Sage has chosen to sell only through certified consultants as they had been trained on the product and could provide the best technical support and service to end-users.
"Sage CRM is also continuously looking for ways in which we can add value for our partners," he said. This is one of the reasons for us deciding to sell exclusively through ACT! Certified Consultants," he said.
The company is looking to recruit additional consultants.
Prokopec said mobility in the SMB sector was definitely heating up this year.
Sage was considering further partnerships in this space, he said.
"Being focused on the SMB market and working closely with business owners in this sector, Sage CRM has started seeing a bigger interest and demand for mobility applications among SMBs in recent years," he said.
"This is in part due to SMBs becoming more tech savvy and looking for ways in which they can increase efficiency and lower cost within their businesses. We anticipate this trend will increase and have therefore decided to partner with a mobility vendor which would enable our customers and prospects to have even easier access to such applications."
