Acer has launched a new online facility to provide resellers with free technical and sales training and product information.
Acer eBusiness director, Des Paroz, said eAcademy featured relevant and up to date educational modules across its product range, from desktop notebooks, servers to storage and display products. It also featured information on the latest products and market trends, as well as selling tools and business essentials such as time management.
"Delivering training methods in an electronic format provides partners with something they can complete in their own time and in a way that suits them rather than the traditional face to face," he said.
Acer was previously providing some services through product road shows.
"It is for all types of partners because they all want to be up to date with products, technologies, trends, business practises and selling methodologies, but finding the time to do that can be hard," Paroz said.
The vendor would consider extending the program to include specific tools and specialised courses for VARs, distributors and retailers, he said.
Partners that successfully complete the product sales training online gain points, which can be redeemed for vouchers or products such as an LCD TV.
Standard courses are worth 100 points, while partners who undertake comprehensive training sessions will earn more.
