Software distributor, Infotronics, will carry Postini Web-based mail security products as it looks to beef up its security range.
Infotronics technical director, Phil Lancaster, said the deal complemented its existing range of iPrism mail management security appliances from St Bernard.
The Postini mail management service is based on a per-user license model with contracts running for up to three years. The product was suitable for any size customer, according to Lancaster.
Postini recently released an email archive and instant messenger management application that could be accessed from a single interface and user login, he said. Partners could sign up as straightforward resellers or certified partners. Resellers would earn ongoing commission on end-user license sales, Lancaster said, while fully qualified partners could undertake all implementation and support services themselves.
The distributor would initially be targeting the ISP and telco community, as well as those working with large corporates.
"A number of our resellers will take the product on, but we will target those who can take us into larger opportunities," he said. The Postini contract follows deals inked with print server company, ThinPrint SEH, and firewall vendor, Kerio, last year.
Lancaster said these two vendors had helped Infotronics to get close to its total sales revenue for 2004/2005 in the first six months of the current financial year.
