After hosting successful internet deployment seminars in Melbourne and Brisbane, NetComm is eyeing its planned Sydney session to pick up new channel partners.
The free training sessions are being run by NetComm engineers and focus on deployment and configuration of the company's DSLAM products which set up high speed Internet services using a building's existing phone lines.
NetComm marketing manager, Michael Fitzgibbon, said the training seminars were part of a vendor's responsibility to educate the reseller market about new technologies.
He said they were also an excellent way for vendors to align themselves with new channel partners.
"The seminars are primarily focused on resellers servicing the hospitality industry, but is also well suited for rental property development companies, or other resellers that service multiple dwellings units," he said.
NetComm has previously held training sessions on modems and other base applications, but Fitzgibbon said this was the first to address the vendor's DSLAM products.
"Feedback has been fantastic," he said. "Both seminars we've put on have been completely booked out, which shows us that the market is hungry for this knowledge."
Fitzgibbon said NetComm hoped to sign 30 channel partners in each state, and would welcome expressions of interest from Perth and Tasmanian resellers who might be interested in the seminars.
The Sydney Internet deployment training session will be held on February 14 at NetComm's head office but available places are expected to be limited.
"If the interest is there we will run another session, or at least squeeze in as many people as we possibly can," Fitzgibbon said.
