Natcomp focuses on flash memory

Sydney-based hardware distributor, Natcomp, has signed with Microdia to stock its range of flash memory products.

Managing director and founder, Fabio Grassia, said Natcomp would distribute the full range of branded products from Microdia, starting with its ultra and high-speed flash memory cards. The cards are available with up to 8GB of memory capacity, in compact flash, mini and micro SD or MMC formats.

Once the brand was established, Natcomp would then import the vendor's USB drives and bluetooth headsets, followed by its MP3 player series and card readers. All products come with a lifetime warranty.

While other resellers and suppliers had dabbled with the Microdia products a few years ago, Grassia said Natcomp was the first fully-fledged distributor appointed for the Australian market.

All resellers and retailers would get access to the Microdia kiosk, a ready-made stock display stand. Grassia said Natcomp was also put together a new website for resellers, along with end-user promotional campaigns. The distributor would hone in on its existing retailer partners, including Harvey Norman, Retravision and camera stores, along with new sales avenues, such as Australia Post.

Alongside Microdia, Grassia said it also wanted to introduce its own brand of Natview LCD monitors. They would be available in 17-, 19- and 21-inch models. The monitors would be one of three categories, along with LCD TVs and the Microdia flash and consumer range, which Natcomp would concentrate on this year.

"There are a lot of products we just don't do anymore: PCs, notebooks, video cards and motherboards," he said. "There's no money in them. Resellers are falling away every week."
