SkyNetGlobal’s home automation subsidiary, W Home, has signed a distribution deal with Anyware Computer Accessories.
The products include products from X-10 designed to manage everything from entertainment and security to lighting and air conditioning through a range of handheld, wall-mounted, desktop and voice-activated controllers.
General manager of W Home, Peter McCook, claimed X-10 had already sold 100 million devices worldwide.
W Home currently distributes its home automation gear to mass merchants like Harvey Norman, Dick Smith, Tandy and Domayne. But the deal with Anyware will see it gaining traction from as many as 10,000 IT resellers, the companies claimed.
Anyware managing director, Garrison Huang, said he would initially be carrying a standard selection of starter packs and add-ons.
“Initial response has been excellent and I expect many of our first orders will be from dealers taking the equipment home to familiarise themselves with it,” he said. “The exciting aspect of the X-10 range in particular is its ability to grow with the user.”
Training sessions and a training website are also planned.
