Victorian infrastructure distributor, MPA Systems, has appointed a new business development manager, Steve Clack, to drive its expansion into NSW.
Operating out of North Sydney, he has been tasked with NSW sales operations as well as introducing the region's resellers and integrators to new product technologies.
Clack's resume features a stint as channel director for Trend Micro A/NZ. While in the UK, he had also served as managing director of Right Now Technologies and sales director at Network Associates.
While MPA was already well known in the Unix and Linux marketplace, Clack said new products would enhance its other areas of focus - security and connectivity.
"We are moving towards security appliances that sit at the network edge," he said. "It's definitely a growing market space and, with my background in security, I know vendors are heading down the appliance route."
MPA has begun working with ACT-based Content Keeper and SnapGear - part of the recently merged Secure Computing and Cyberguard brand.
Clack said he was also talking to security solution provider, Tumbleweed, as a potential partner.
"We are really looking to supply niche security devices that complement our server-centric side. We want to stay niche and be a source of knowledge for resellers," he said. "We don't want to become just another place where you can buy a product."
